The New Museum seems to be a leading institution in combining technology and art. Besides the NEWINC, its up-coming startup incubator for the creative field; it’s organizing a cool, fun and stimulating conference once a year through its organization Rhizome.

The conference, called 7 X 7, is a conference that brings together seven artists with seven tech guys, to work together for limited time: “The event pairs seven leading artists with seven luminary technologists, and challenges them to develop something new—be it an application, social media, artwork, product, or whatever they imagine—over the course of a single day. They unveil these ideas for the first time at this event,” it states on Rhizome’s website. How cool is that?!

The conference manages to attract leading tech entrepreneurs as well as artists such as Instagram founder Mike Krieger, Vine founder Rus Yusupov and Lifehacker, Yahoo’s CEO Marissa Mayer,  and Thinkup founder Gina Trapani to name just a few.

I would be happy to see more collaboration like this one. I believe that by doing so, not only dowe expose the techis to the art, but we also encourage and help develop a common ground for future collaborations which probably will take place between the world of tech and art.

You can Watch all of the conference’s Videos on Rhizome’s Vimeo channel and read more here: Seven leading artists meets Seven luminary technologists.
